Tuesday 21st June - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Gooood morning - nearly didn't start the thread as I really am in a rush...but then I feel bad so here I am:rotfl:
I'm aiming to go to work for 8 again...stuff to do so need to get a move on.
Hope you're all feeling good:D
My list:
So, the longest day eh?! Shame it's dull and cold:( I'd quite like summer to arrive any time soon!

Ok, Im new to this forum, but really want to start getting involved so I can stay motivated to get out of debt, and get saving for my mortgage deposit!
So today I will be;
1) NSD! My first attempt at this, lets see how it goes.
2) Speak to Orange about reducing my tariff (currently £60 per month with £12 insurance so £72 per month for my iphone 4 and i never use the minutes being a serial texter!)
3) Gym after work to avoid going out, Ive cancelled my contract but still have to pay 2 more months due to 3 month cancellation period.
4) Lunch at home.
5) Print postage labels for amazon items ready to post tomorrow.
6) At work until 5.30, so will avoid the vending machine and have free fruit.
7) Early night, very tired after dropping OH off at the station at the crack of dawn this morning.
8) Drink lots of water
9) Check bank online.
Hopefully i'll start getting the hang of this

Good Morning all
Pixie -Thanks for starting us off
Candy - dont let the negativity drag you down
Miss149 - you'll love it here it's the best thread on MSE, everyone is so supportive and the little things really do count!
Sun shining here in Sheffield, have kept LO off school today as he's in quite a bit of pain following yesterdays appointment, they took off the temporary cast and messed around with his arm before deciding on a splint which he should only have to wear for 4 weeks more (I feel such a fool cos I burst into tears while they were messing around with him and he was so brave)
My little list today
Check Banks - Done
Check swapits (for LO) - Done
Check Ebay (no watchers or bids yet) - Done
Try and sell more stock (going to try emailing round a few people)
Comps
May not get much more done cos want to spend some time with LO, maybe a DVD this afternoon.
Love and Best wishes to everyone on my fave thread :A

hello, everybody!
Welcome, Miss 149!
Thanks for starting us off, Pix
Enjoy your morning out of the office, La E!
I've been MIA for a while as I settle in to my new life. As many of you know, this has been a tough time for me in many ways but I think I can confidentially say that I am coming out on top :j My new social life in Kampala is fantastic - way more active than it was in London, and I am enjoying every bit of it. Im having crazy adventures (this weekend was spent playing boda - motorbike! - polo ), making lots of new friends and enjoying my work. Of course I am still torn up about the break up (down two dress sizes courtesy heartbreak diet + awful east african food...) but i feel like i am in my element in a way I haven't for ages.
however all that socializing isnt free even if its cheap so I need to keep an eye on my bottom line!! In Moneysaving today:- walked to work, will try to leave before dark so I can walk back too
- mango from out of town for breakfast - they are soooo much cheaper outside the city that i stock up whenever I go
- lunch provided by work - will resist the clarion call of snacks...
- leftovers for dinner
- going out to what I think is a free poetry night - if its not free then it will be cheap. going with friends that dont drink much so shouldnt be expensive
- charging crackberry at work
- following up on housing agreement with roommate as its holding up my work refunds
- getting document I desperately need from dad for visa
Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000
Debt free as of 1 October, 2010
Taking my frugal life on the road!0
