Skates.co.uk/Yodel/Dhl

placed an order with Skates.co.uk yesterday a.m. given a tracking number beginning with JD0002 but no trace of it can be found on the Yodel/DHL tracking system online or on the telephone, online it just tells me that "No details Available" and the phone tracking system doesn't recognose the number or words to that affect. Has anyone ever ordered from skates.co.uk themselves and if so should I be worried and I have spent over £100 with them and getting a bit worried (next day delivery was specified on the website).

Sometimes it takes a day or so after an order for the item to appear on tracking for couriers. Have you asked the company?

Yeah, as Oliver14 says - I wouldn't worry too much yet. I've experienced orders with other retailers where the delivery arrives before any tracking info is displayed!

Was it at tracking number or order number? That site seems to sell a lot of things that begin with 'JD', so it may be an item/order number, not a courier tracking number.

DHL/Yodel tracking codes do start with JD000 - have you got the correct tracking link (DHL have quite a few confusing options on their site)?

The top link is probably the one you want (Domestic Express by Ident Code).

Typing the Ident code in here for example http://www.dhl.co.uk/en/express/tracking.html doesn't work I think.

Astuteboy is spot on - put the JD code, which DHL call an IDENT code, in box 1 and click submit. If using copy and paste - make sure you dont copy any spaces at the start or end.

I always send a direct link to the item tracking, as DHL have the most confusing tracking set up ever.

Also - the tracking reference does not work until AFTER the item as been collected and scanned by the driver. The parcel will have been sat around waiting for collection for a day or so after they marked it as dispatched.

As for next day delivery - that does not include yesterday - as its working days. It should be collected by DHL today and delivered tomorrow.
