Hi all,
I am looking for advice on a freesat hd box,
I want one that can record and also allow live pause,
I have been told Humax is pretty good?
All advice would be very much appreciated
Many thanks
Jayne

I've got both a Humax HD box and a Sky HD box in my house and I would choose the Humax over the Sky box every time. (I've had three Sky boxes in 3 years, all of which have overheated, so that might explain my preference)
Humax has slightly different channel listings to Sky, so it really just boils down to personal choice. I think the Humax box looks better as well, although you will miss out on the swirly coloured lights on the front of the Sky box.
Both boxes have the one touch recording facility and I would have to admit the Sky program guide looks a bit better.0 -
Thanks very much for the info,
Can you live pause with the Humax one you have, which model is it that you have, there is that many that I get confused,
Many thanks again0 -
Humax Foxsat HDR is the model. I think there is a 320GB and 500GB version these days.
Yes it does have live pause - just press pause while watching TV, but it does not have the rewind facility that Sky boxes have. IE come home halfway through Eastenders, and assuming the Sky box was on BBC1, you can rewind to the start of it. This facility, however, means that Sky boxes never really go into standby properly, as the HDD always runs. More electric used, and shorter life by the looks of things...0 -
I love my HUMAX HDR!! got it when it first came out and i've never missed my sky box!
I'd hugely recommend ANY Humax product!Laters
