Selling Faulty iPod on eBay

Hi everyone, just after a bit of advice. I have an old non-working iPod classic that I'm thinking of selling on eBay for spares/repairs and I was wondering if it was best to list the fault in detail, or not at all (just describing it as not working and for parts). If I describe exactly what happens when it is switched does that leave me open to an SNAD if there is another fault? Just wondering the best way to do this, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Also, are there any websites that recylce iPods for cash like the ones for mobile phones?

just explain what happens when you turn it on and that you haven't been able to test it further.0

I've sold several old ipods in the past on ebay. They were 'old' ones I had bought to raid the parts for mine and OH's ipods which had different faults.
The ones I bought generally described them as 'not working, for spares or parts only' but if there was a specific part missing (hard drive / screen / logic board) this was mentioned in the listing. When I sold them on again, I used the same listing tactics and never once had a SNAD claim.

I sold my faulty iPod last September. Definitely list all the faults, or a good description of how it behaves when switched on, as people who buy for repairs (if not spares) will want to know beforehand whether they can fix it or not. A good list of what's wrong might bring you a better price and less hassle afterwards than a vague listing without specifying the fault."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

That's great, thanks very much for your replies. Just out of interest crowqueen and bingo bango, how much do they generally end up selling for?0

Best bet is to run a completed listings search."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Mine were 5th Gen (30Gb video). All seemed to go for around £30 + postage and had at least one major part missing.
I did actually manage to make a few quid on them after I had stripped them0
