    I'd suggest waiting at least 6 months, but that doesn't mean that you have to.

    Personally I think you were extremely naive to expect a 0% deal when unemployed.

    Usually you would stand a better chance once you have been employed for 3months, better still after 6months.
    Some card providers require you to wait at least 6months after being declined to apply again (or at least for your application to be considered - I'm not certain if RBS does).

    Did you manage to keep on top of all your payments whilst unemployed? As any recent missed payments or late payments or paying less than the minimum etc would make it very unlikely you'd be accepted for this card.

    Yes, I never got into difficulties with payments, the budgets I'd set for all my expenses worked well.
