MARAS Tenant Referencing Agent

We're selling in Pompey, and relocating to Conwy in N.Wales.
We'll be renting initially, until we find that idyllic spot to buy.
We've had to go this referencing business, guilty until proven innocent, which these days I have to accept.
HOWEVER, since having our referencing cleared this morning with MARAS, we've had 4 (four) cold phone calls offering us various services.
This is new for us, as we're very careful who we give private and personal info to.
Is it possible that MARAS have passed on our details to 3rd parties without our written approval?
If so, should I give MARAS a blast, and can I threaten them with anything?
Or maybe it was the Letting Agent!
I've questioned these callers as to where they've got our info and they just hang-up!

    Yes and probobly not.
