British Charities Lottery Promotions

Is this a scam? I received this email. It's different from the others mentioned in this thread. Having read a few of he other threads, I am confused by what some have said: send these people money and it'll be ok. I think they were being ironic, but am not sure!

Anyway, here's the email I ws sent incase anyone else gets confused like me:

UNITED KINGDOM.

We are pleased to inform you of the announcements today of Winners of the MEGA JACKPOT LOTTO WINNING PROGRAMS. Your company or personal e-mail address, is attached to a Ticket number 644-701-836-872, with a serial number 64483-72 drew the Lucky Winning Numbers 06-14-17-28-30-41.

You have therefore been awarded the total lump sum pay out of £420,000.00 credited to File Ref No: CLP/ 24-FB-426253.

You must contact the claims department by e-mail;

    This is obviously a scam. Just Google 'BRITISH CHARITIES LOTTERY PROMOTIONS UNITED KINGDOM' and see what comes up. You are not alone. These are very common, and all work on variations of the same theme. The hotmail address should have alerted you as well. I've lost count of the amount of these I've seen over the years. Just delete it, and don't worry about it.

    This was the first result (they've even got the same ticket number as you).

    Yep,i just had one from the so called Spanish Lottery.They want me to fax them a copy of my passport plus my bank details,oh and they want a 10% commission...
