Why am I such a idiot!!

I have only been carrying my credit card around with me for the past month (my old one had expired and I had a nice new shiny one in the post and popped it into my purse without thinking) I have already spent over £350 without thinking about it.
I am so angry as I have tried so hard to reduce the outstanding amount and now I feel like i'm back to square one. Grrrrrrrr

Don't call yourself an idiot! You have realised now before the damage can get worse so you have done something positive. Take it out of your purse or cut it up. Now draw a line under it and start again tomorrow.

I agree with Purpleprincess. Take it out your purse right now!
I know from experience carrying round a credit card "just in case" is asking for trouble.
We now have debts of £21k to prove it
And you're not stupid, just human. Learn from your mistakes.
Good luck x0 -
I never carry it. I have no idea why I even put it in my purse

Lesson def learnt though. Sadly I have sold all that I can already.

I heard a tip once...... Put the credit card in the freezer. Then if you really want something you have to defrost it before you can use it.
Not sure if it works, but i wish i'd thought of it before i ended up £28k in debt:oFinally debt free, all thanks to this site and all the posters:j0 -
Sounds like an excellant tip redsquarelady! Wish I'd thought of it too.0

You didn't say what you bought on the card - anything you could take back to the shop and get a refund?
And if you do, get the refund put directly onto the card thus reducing the balance - if it's given to you in cash that has a nasty habit of evaporating out of your purse! (Or take the card statement with you and go to the bank/PO immediately and pay it.)Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0
