How long does it usually take to hear back from them and how long can you be suspended for? Also today when he signed on as normal they didnt mention anything about what had been said the other day?

    Did he not ask?

He'll be suspended for the period in doubt, so a week or two at most.

He needs to speak to them directly and ask what's going on.

it for a period of week that there is "doubt". he is due to get paid on thursday so will see if anything goes in, also will it be all the money thats sanctioned or just his half of it? thankyou for your replies.

  • It will just be his half. You will receive the JSA payment due to a single person AFAIK.

Is it a joint claim or are you a dependant?

If the former, youwill receive your entitlement, if the latter no payment will be due

its a joint claim but only he signs on, how long does it usually take these decision makers to make a decision?

That doesn't sound like a joint claim, why do you not sign on?

They'll make a decision when they have sufficient evidence, this may involve posting a letter to your partner for further information

Then that's not a joint claim and an adverse decision would result in no payment

    I've been Money Tipped!
To me it sounds like a busybody advisor, my friend had this a few years ago(and this was actually affecting his jobsearch!) and my friend was applying for about at least 5 jobs per week and more like 10-15 and was told that he didnt detail his book well enough as he had to write"went to jobcentre, went on pcs, printed details, phoned company" etc.

You dont really have to do this, you just have to prove you have been jobsearching.
