Hi, i am new to this site so forgive me if this seems/sounds daft. In 2003 i took out a credit card with lloyds, i soon had 5k debt on it. I then took out a card with EGG and ran up 3.5k worth of debt. I then transfered the 8.5k debt onto a virgin card. This was prob in the year 2006? In the year 2008 I cleared the 8.5k debt off the virgin card leaving me debt free. i recently heard/read etc etc, about reclaiming ppi, from banks for credit cards. I have NO records/letters of any of the cards i had. I wrote/phoned/sent the templates from this site to the banks, and also explained that i have no a/c info etc for them, as the debt was cleared a few years ago. The chap from Lloyds told me ''oh because you had a card a few years ago, our records dont go back that far'' i also had a letter from lloyds asking me for the a/c deatils, AFTER i had told them that i did not have them. What im trying to ask is, is it relly worth the time/effort to reclaim the ppi?? i was on the phone for half an hour with lloyds just to be told they have no records going backto those years?(i find that hard to believe!) i have contacted the ombudsman, and they sent me a load of paperwork to fill in. Has anyone had any luck with this, am i out of luck because the debt was going back to 2003-2008?? thanks for any help/advice

Hi there, write to each card holder and request they send you all data they hold on you this will cost you £10 each i am afraid, but if you can get hold of the account numbers then you can put a claim in.
People on here have won further back than that, and the banks have found the agreements
Dont forget to give as many details about yourself as you can your address at the time of taking the cards out, and date of birth.0
