So sad to hear your problem, Pangloss but here is my mates experience. My friend had similar problem. They wrote to Esure about inferior work and missing bits in January but initially contacted Hellhire in December numerous times.
Helphire was back involved by Eldon Insurance (Ecar) as they had been instructed again to check out the claim and sent an independent assessor after the garage claimed the vehicle had been hit again. The `independant` assessor took their side and stated that the vehicle had a second impact!
Its definately not the case because bumper no matter how flexible at top is fine but all the boot area still bashed and safety bars bent amongst a list of other things.
Initially wrote these things and informed Ecar that they will not be visiting the SAME garage because of the poor workmanship and cost cutting scam to make the vehicle look repaired when in fact its not.
After sending 2 quotes as requested by them for the rectification work, received final response..... send the car back to the SAME garage!
I personally think you might still have a long way to go as the final useless response was received on 14 July 2011 and the problems were reported in December 2010. My thread was at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3357326
I`m eager to see what response you get from them.I have written to esure asking them to:
- restore my claim to the situation where it would have been if they had offered me the option of them handling the claim
- indemnify me against any claims from Helphire and Fix Auto Birmingham South
- book my car into an approved repairer to assess what Fix Auto Birmingham South have done to my car and at no cost to me restore my car to an acceptable standard.
I have sent them all the correspondence so far from Helphire and Fix Auto to deal with and have told them I will forward all future correspondence un-answered.0
