I've been with aol for many years and plan to switch to another ISP. I need to keep my aol email addresses though and I read on here a few years ago that its possible to register them so you get to keep them when you switch providers.
Does anyone know how I can do this as Ive spent ages trying to find out and am not having much luck.
Thanks.

I left AOL a couple of months ago but my old AOL email account is still active. I can access it by logging on here https://my.screenname.aol.com/_cqr/login/login.psp?sitedomain=sns.webmail.aol.com0

I spoke to AOL when I left their dial up service and there didn't seem to be any trouble keeping the e-mail address going.
The only problem you may have is what e-mail client you use.
When I had AOL they had a unique AOL e-mail programme which I think produced files incompatible with any other.
If you just use their web mail all will be well.
You can setup Outlook (or Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail or ....) to read your AOL Mail.
Google this and use the "IMAP" system. That way the mail can also be left with AOL and be accessed via webmail (or a phone) as well.0 -
I was with AOL for years. Otherhalf switched to Sky but we can still access and use our AOL accounts.
You just sign into AOL as normal - no charge. Receive and send emails.
