Hello there,
I'm afraid you've been given somewhat inaccurate advice from your supplier. Gas, if used for cooking, will always be a cheaper option than electricity.
The flexibility is also a key factor in terms of cooking; a lot of people prefer gas hobs, as they give better control. They combine this with an electric fan oven, that will use less electricity than conventional ovens and reduce cooking time. The only main drawback is longer warm up times compared to gas.
I hope this helps... ? ! :T

I'm not aware of anywhere that gas costs more per kWh than electric. I'd contact them again and clarify, ask them what the cost per kWh is for each.
For most people gas is cheap and using it for cooking adds very little to the monthly bill. I believe my oven costs less than 4p an hour on gas mark six. To put it in perspective, I actually calculated that the total yearly cost of using my gas oven and hob is actually less than the cost to keep the pilot flame in my boiler lit for a year!0 -
I'd go duel fuel, because if you only have electric in the kitchen what happens when there's a power cut??? In fact, having had a duel fuel range in our last house, this time I went for an all gas one as the ovens/grill are ready sooner. And I'm sure gas is more cost effective than electric for cooking.
Good luck, these decisions can be tricky!!0 -
THANK YOOUUU!! duel fuel it is then... thats been very helpful, its annoying that they told me that, they wanted me to pay more for gas than electric everymonth... maybe its there way of making money?? anyway... thank you very much for your replys! :j0
