Is receiving DLA at whatever rate, the same as being registered disabled?
My local authority could not give me a straight answer so any help from you expert people would be grately appreciated.
Many Thanks!! :T:T:T

I asked this question once and got told that there is no such thing as 'registered disabled' anymore.0 -
I remember that too.
No there is no such registermake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Yes same difference. Odd areas do a register still but they are few and far between.0
-
As above a few councils still have a register,if not then dla means the same as being registered0
-
All areas have a register for those registered blind/severely sight impaired or partially sighted. I think there might also still be a deaf equivalent too.
As for all other disabilities, as stated a few areas still do but most do not.
having a DLA award is usually used as the benchmark for eligibility to services and support for the disabled now instead."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0 -
Hampshire County Council, registered me as Disabled and I also have a Dinky little blue card to prove it !The DWP = Legally kicking the Disabled when they are down.0

my area has me registered disabled for deafness you get a little card had nothing to do with dla ....was with social servicesthe truth is out there ... on these pages !!0

I think it's considered by the authorities to be more politically correct to have someone labled as a DLA claimant than to be "registered" disabled.;)
Unfortunately that carries it's own stigma from the anti claimant brigade:(:(I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
