Purchase online of a washer with 'free 5year warranty'

I purchased a washing machine yesterday online and it had a special offer of a free 5year warranty which is why i purchased it from the retailer i did. However yesterday it said underneath the warranty to ring a number to activate it. I tried yesterday but it was a mon-fri number. So today when i went onto the website the offer is still there but the ring this number had disappeared.
I contacted the company i have bought the washer from and after some enquiries by the person i spoke to i received a call back stating that it was an error on their website and that it does not have a free 5year warranty.
I want to know where i stand now. I have ordered the washer yesterday believing it included this warranty and i assume they have taken payment for it. Do they have to give me the warranty as i have purchased it and it was an error on their part? Im going to push for a goodwill gesture to include it but have i got anything that would back me up?
Thanks

Up until the point a contract is formed (usually this is when the goods are dispatched), a retailer can cancel the order or make changes to it.
However, if they change it, they must inform you of this and give you the opportunity to cancel and receive a full refund.
You could contact them again and advise them that as the warranty isn't supplied then you wish to cancel the order as is your legal right.
They may well make an offer of some sort with regards to the warranty.0
