How to get a mortgage.

Hi all,

Me and my partner have been privately renting our house for nearly 2 years now. We have been offered to buy the house in the region of £235,000. I had it looked at by my friend who has an estate agency and he has valued it at between £260,000 - £280,000.

I recently went self-employed in January and my partner is a part-time accounts trainee.
This is a really good opportunity to get our own house but we cannot get a mortgage because of me becoming recently self-employed.

Is there anything we can do to take advantage of this situation or am i wasting my time bothering looking everyday for a solution???

Loans???

Any help would be much appreciated.

Mark

If you are self employed, you are best going to see an independent mortgage adviser.

If you friend valued it at £260k - £280k, that would probably mean that it would be nearer the lower end of that scale and with that in mind because of the stamp duty would then fall under £250k, so idoes it look as good as deal now.

If so, you are best speaking to an Independent Mortgage Advisor.
