O2 threatens to invalidate my SIM card and the number
I have a SIM card from O2 where I receive a lot of calls but never make calls myself. O2 threatens to invalidate SIM card and, which is more important, my number, since I do not top it up (I do not need to).
Is there a mobile operator which would not demand a top up threatening to switch me off?

All the networks require you to make a top up at some point (Once every 3 years I think) but you need to make a chargeable call/text every 6 to 12 months to keep the sim active (its in the T&C's).
They are running a business and expect to make a little something from you. . .0 -
To be fair, they make, and not a little, from the incoming calls.0

That was 3, but I don't think they do any longer?? I haven't seen them advertise it for a while now. . .0

That was 3, a little while ago.
But as said above, just make one chargeable call every few months and you'll be right. Even £5 top up would last years if you spend 10p on a call (even to voicemail) every 4 monthsSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
All you have to is dial 4444 and it resets the time. I've had mine for years and do that regularly. Try topping up by a small amount to keep the number if that fails or migrate the number to another SIM. Any reason for o2?:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

you don't need to topup all the time my dad as had O2 sim for about 7-8yrs and all i do is make sure he makes a call every 60 days just ring someone and then when they answer say hello and then hang up that's it your topup will last years just a normal £10 topup will do that's it.
If you don't make that call within 60 days they will shut your Sim down and you will loose the number all networks do thatNobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -
O2 require you to make a call or send a text at least once every 6 months. There is a minimum top-up requirement, once every 9,999 days! (Increased last year from 999days).
All of this is in the little booklet no-one bothers to read, that comes with the SIM.0
