Is there anyone I can contact about car claim taking too long?

Courtesy cars are normally "free" and are effectively included in the labour rate the garage charges. A hire or credit hire car obviously has a bill associated with it.
A courtesy car normally cannot be taken outside of the UK but is otherwise the same as your own vehicle with unlimited mileage - but worth checking on the last part.
The only challenge will be if your away for 2 weeks and your cars ready after a few days then you will be expected to switch them over but speak to both the garage and the insurers about it and you should be able to come to an arrangement0 -
But you may only get the courtesy car for a limited time, which could be 1 day if your car is written off. And the garage will charge you a stupid amount per day if this is the case.
If your car is written off, contact the Zurich claims handler and ask them for a hire car. You are entitled to one for a short period of time After you have received your settlement chq (long enough for it to clear) so be aware of this. You are also entitled to a hire car of similar size to your own, so if you have a 5 door car and would go away with that car, you will need one of a similar size, rather than a micro car, to go away in, so tell the insurance co before they book the hire car, otherwise you will get a micro car to save them money.0
