Cancelled WTC .... but.....

I am no longer entitled to any WTC (I phoned and informed them that I was no longer working - almost 2 months ago - they wrote back and confirmed) My wife only works 7 hours per week also - but this morning, I received replacement Tax Credit Certificates from NHS (for another 12 months) - The letter says "... HMRC have informed us that you meet the conditions ..."
WHY ?

Guess you'll probably get free presciptions through a different route then...

But I seem to remember reading somewhere that tax credits certificates can still be used until expiry even if your circumstances have changed such that you're no longer entitled, but can't find anything in the manuals about this... anyone know?

Do not use the card, you will be liable for any costs as you are no longer entitled to WTC.

I'm just assuming here, that the cards are just on automatic renewal every April. Or as you say it could just be another HMRC blunder. ;)
