Thanks for everything so far.
One last question, she's going in at 10 tomorrow so when is the last time she can have food? I was told but can't remember what they said exactly.0 -
Our lurcher was xrayed for an ankle injury and she really did just lay there, it really does depend on the dog and how good yor vet is I think.
Hope everything works out ok

How did she get on Zingy?
I agree that sedation or GA is needed in 90% of cases, not just for the safety of the vet/vn but also for the comfort of the animal - some xrays neccesitate manipulation of potentially painful areas, and it is not right to try and acheive that concious. Also the patient is likely to be stressed, and IMHO a sedation / GA is just better all round.
Of course there are exceptions, like the seriously dyspnoeic cat, who would likely not survive a sedation, but the vet must review each case individually, taking everything into account, and as snowman says, 90% of the time, chemical restraint is the best option for all concerned.I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
