It's OH's and I's 5 year anniversary on the 15th, do i get a good meal deal and we stay in with a bottle or as it's a little milestone do we go out for dinner???

The day after Valentines Day, should be nice and quiet if you pop out and will get much better service.
Congratulations, check Groupon for a nice meal deal - some great Italian deals in my local area of late (3 ready to book).

I looked on Groupon today, but nothing, Will speak to OH and see what he fancies doing. I think we deserve a little treat and a meal out would be nice.

Keep checking Groupon Bramble1, something normally pops up on a weekly basis.

Not been out yet, so NSD so far. Had my soup (carrot and coriander) and it was lovely - need some more coriander, thought I had another packet!!
Took out a pack of pork and tomato sausages to have with our little "grill" tonight and made a pasta bake with most of them for tomorrow. Cheated and used a jar of Dallaglio sauce to bulk it out and added extra oregano etc. - tastes nice also. Of all the sauces, I prefer the Dallaglio ones - hope the coupon returns!!

Probably try Sainsbury's later and see if they have the free puddings in - hopefully grab a few bargains.

My little Sainsbury's didn't have my free puddings, I'll be passing a large one tomorrow and hoping to get lucky.
Spent £2.25 tonight, plenty reduced and could have spent a lot more if I wasn't being frugal.

Pack of pork loin steaks - 74p
Pack of smoked back bacon - 64p
    Pack of grapes - 29p
    Pack of peppers - 29p
Pack of Mediterranean veg - 29p

Loads of veg and salad stuff for 29p and plenty of pizzas - walked away. I need the space.

^ wow super cheap bargains!! I can't decide whether it's worth going to Sainsburys tomorrow in this freezing weather, 1 degree daytime temp, hmm... I noticed on the coupon it said selected Sainsburys and on fb it said they would put something on the page tomorrow??

I had a chocolate egg and some salted pistachios (left over from Christmas) for lunch. Nearly finished the nuts so that will be a large pot out the cupboard soon.

Then made the pasties so had that for dinner - put 1 in the fridge for tomorrow's lunch and the rest in the freezer.

I forgot I also got some sprouting broccoli and a cabbage from the allotment yesterday - so as fast as I use some stuff up, more stuff arrives!

    Evening all

I've had a fairly busy afternoon cleaning windows and the bathroom and such like. Got to visit ds' school in the morning so hoping to put something in the sc before I go. Thinking of sausage with baked beans, toms, carrots, and a few herbs. I might serve it with mash.

Starting to run out of fridge stuff but will maybe hold off getting anything til next week.

I'm debating whether to order the branston beans from amazon. hmmm do I need 24 cans at 25p each? Haven't seen many at 4 for a £1 lately in the shops I go in though. - Scrap that, just ordered them.

Lynsey - I like to think I'm quite adventurous with my cooking, so if the rats eat any more clothes, I might be eating them! I can't blame them totally though as at least two of my new tops had holes in before the rats were going in the bathroom.

That sounds a nice healthy lunch you had Kirri. :p

Tonight OH made turkey and fennel patties with ASDA turkey thigh mince out of the freezer, onions on offer at Morrisons and reduced fennel from ASDA. Calling them patties is a misnomer, bricks would be more accurate. He put so much pepper in that my mouth feels numb.

It could always be worse. You could be eating that lot between your meals instead of having them for your meals. Give yourself a pat on the back! :D
