I was fitting two new doors at the weekend. I was nearly finnished, had to take door back off after hanging to take another bit of the top and planer refured to work!
It was working fine before, no funny smells / noises and was only taking off the minimum at a time.
I have checked the plug/fuse and all ok, any ideas?

Motor brushes? Broken conductor in the cable?

Check the brushes. One or both may have worn down or jammed in the holder and is perhaps not making contact with the commutator. Alternatively, the operating switch could have just given up the ghost. Or there could be a break in the supply cable. If so, this is likely to be near to the cord grip as the cable enters the machine.
Edit. Curses, I see keystone has beaten me to it. Great minds think alike.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
