Monday 20th June - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Gooood morning...here we are at the start of another week...another week closer to the summer hols:rotfl:
Hope you all had lovely weekends - mine isn't over yet, off today:)
So - must get a move on. The letting agent are doing a check this morning so the house is all neat and tidy...just want to have a quick hoover round and I'll nip out to get some groceries while they are here.
No make up on yet and towel still on my head - I need to move!:D

Morning all and thanks Pixie for starting the thread.
Been rather un-DFW the last few days so really must get back on track.
So todays tasks are:
Reconcile our bank accounts as it is OH payday and make sure money is moved between accounts as needed.
Make a shopping list to stock up the freezer and cupboards for the coming month.
Tidy the house from top to bottom and hope to come across so lost pennies for my money pot.
Check surveys.
Check e-mail for a reply from the company I had an interview last week. They said they would contact early this week to arrange second interviews if successful, so I'm keeping everything crossed.
Get figures together for me and OH monthly payday chat to see how we are getting on.
Check employment websites and apply for anything suitable.
Decide what to cook for tea with the chicken stock (lots) and cooked chicken I took out to make soup for last nights tea, but we had toast instead. I'm thinking either curry or pasta bake as I want to bulk it up a bit rather than making soup as I know it wouldn't fill them up.June £25 a day 850.94/750 :beer:
July £15 a day 220/465
LBM - 26/5/11 - Debt £33,739.62 :eek: Now -£32,893.20

Hi there
I am very new to the board even thought I've been a member for a while and I've just come across this thread which is actually very cathartic and I've enjoyed reading what everyone is up to.
I have a question...we have a dishwasher that my parents gave us a few years ago...is it wiser to fill it up and turn it on once a day (family of 4) or should I wash up as I go along...we are not on a water meter but in terms of electricity etc...which is better?
I've already turned it on for today and have a mountain of ironing to do.
I have just changed home insurance providers, got a (slightly) cheaper quote and received a £40 tesco giftcard
I have just changed gas/elec provider to go on a fixed DD until august 2013 and will get tesco clubcard points from it
AND
I have just changed from Virgin to Sky saving us £30 a month and will also receive a £50 M&S voucher.
I'm going to save the vouchers for Christmas and spend them on the kids for clothes, books and a couple of toys (they don't need toys IMO and the grandparents will get them loads!)
I made a lasagne yesterday so still have loads left for tonight and an apple pie which I'm going to freeze half of!
Hope everyone is well today
I will do my list better next time!

Hi everyone :wave:
* Brekkie at home
* Leftovers for lunch
* Call fridge freezer repair peeps AGAIN :mad: Lasted 3 weeks this time!
* Replied to ebayer's Q about something I'm selling
* Couldn't find my purse this morning so left without it - didn't get that 'what if I NEED to buy something today' feeling either
* Bit of housework - keeping me out of spending trouble
* Email friend and sis, not call
* Work my hours only; more time for me and me alone
* Bit of voluntary work that I didn't do at the weekend
* Clearing out a la Miss Minimalist :cool:
* Brought my Kindle to read at lunch break - can't remember who asked me about it last weekBut yes, I love it. Got loads of free books and they're generally cheaper; it's encouraged me to clear out and save lots of space at home and it means I'm no longer tempted to fill up my bookcases with books from charity shops that I never get round to reading
Happy Monday y'all. I've got such a good feeling about this week! :beer:0
