2 things.
First-off, is it possible to access the network settings on the Xoom so I can use the '3' SIM from my phone and bypass 3's DNS to prevent me using my internet usage up?.
Second, I see PCWorld is doing a trade-in deal with up to £200 off a new netbook/tablet when you trade-in an old lappy. What is the oldest laptop someone has managed to trade-in?.

Anything you send over 3's network they will be able to track, even a call to a 3rd party DNS server.
From a simplistic point of vew DNS servers are complex phonebooks, using somone elses phonebook still means you will get charged by your provider when you make that call.0 -
I had had tethered my laptop to my (now un-used) Nokia and connected to the net via 'Joikuspot'. And by changing the DNS settings, I was able to download over 4Gb of data per week without it ever showing in my plan's usage.Never Knowingly Understood.
