USB Device Not Recognized / USB TV Tuners / Win 7

No matter which USB port I plug my Hauppauge HVR-900 or K-World DVB-T TV Tuners in, I get a 'USB Device Not Recognized' / 'One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned' message. The hauppauge software won't let me install the driver as it can't detect the device, the k-world driver installs very quickly but has no effect and both tuners are listed as 'Unknown Device' in Device Manager.

I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling the drivers, uninstalling the USB controllers & restarting the computer, trying to install the drivers in safe mode and changing the compatibility mode of the driver setup file with no success. The tuners are working on other computers running the same OS.

I could do with trying to get this fixed asap if anyone has any idea what to do?

I had an external tv card from Hauppage once. With upgrading windows software, it runs into driver compatibility with OS.

Are you sure the drivers you have are compatible with win 7 64bit (do hauppage supply updated versions)?.

When uninstalling the drivers and hauppage software - are you using the hauppage supplied uninstaller app.

I've switched to an Asus P8Z68 Deluxe and I'm getting the same problem... a message comes up stating the devices are malfunctioning but they work fine on my evga 680i mobo running the same windows 7 x64 OS.
