Capquest - Settled with Partial Payment?

Hi Guys,

Need a bit of advice on a Capital One credit card I had - this has been passed onto Capquest for collection who have recently written to me offering a reduced settlement - the catch is they have stated that they will close my account as settled but will note a flag of partial settlement. Is this a good or bad thing? i.e. is it just as bad as the outstanding debt?

Any advice would be great!!

If they close it as settled i dont think many lenders would take not of the flag as it would be similar to when some of the mortgage companies like northern rock did the same with some there debts where people were given a reduced settlement figure for paying of the mortgage.
