Anyone know a VOIP support company?

Options
I'm spending way too much time on this VOIP router (Draytek 2820vn) and I have tried to get support but not getting anywhere. I've now cancelled my Dads BT account and can't get this virtual number sorted. I would like to pay a specialist VOIP techie that could look at the router remotely and fix it!

Cheers, Rob

Did you try the draytek UK forum? If so please post a link to the thread and I'll go read/reply there.

    (its here http://www.forum.draytek.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=18 )

    What's the issue?
    Who is the VOIP povider?

Can you take pictures of your VOIP setup screens and send me a PM with a link to them?

Why not forget the VOIP on the router, get yourself a PAP2T, plug a phone into that, get free sipgate number and off you go. I have a number of these with friends and they work well.

You can also use ZOIPER, software on a computer for voip, small in size and easy to set up and works very well. Or if you have a Sipgate number they offer pre-configured free x-lite software, but not for Windows 7 though.

But he cannot get it to work !.

The other point is that if the modem goes faulty, he has to buy a new VOIP modem, which are not that cheap, with the PAP2T it will work with most modems, even cheap ones.

Cheap ADSL modem/router plus PAP2T cost around £100+ cheaper than 2820Vn.

Currently using TP-Link Modem/Wireless router and PAP2 with 2 free numbers from Sipgate. Total cost around £50.

Other friend using BT business hub from Ebay with modified software to remove BTs own VOIP (only worked with BT broadband), Cost £5 and PAP2 from Ebay £20, and free number as above.

Here is some info on setting your router up with Sipgate, perhaps you can insert your details in the appropriate places.
