Does the day your account opens = the day you activate your CC?

Hi,
I recently applied for a Norwich and Peterborough CC. I received my card and credit card agreement in the post on Saturday. I applied for the card primarily for the 6 months 0% BT. It says on the CC agreement that the 6 months is valid from the date of account opening. Is the day I ring them to activate my card? Thanks!

As #2 said it varies, it might be taken the date of the Credit Agreement is the date of the account opening!0
