The same thing happened to us a couple of days ago, an idiot reversed out at speed stright into the sid of us, hubby swerved but there is a scrape right up the car, and a dent on the front wing. we pulled up and so did he, he just sat there staring ahead, then decided to leave the sacene at great speed, we went straight to the police who are going to chase it up as he has commited a crime, and I contacted our insurance with hsi reg number who are going to deal with it

It is only cosmetic, but as it is a motability car they like to get the work done, and they are going to arrange a car for us while it is in the body shop.

Our insurance co have been great, we have hardly had to lift a finger.

Hope the little scrote has a massive hike on his insurance next year
    Good luck.

Because we have DONE IT BEFORE
and seen my premiums rise from £273 a year to £870 just because someone decided to drive in to my car.
Yes you keep your no claims, but the insurance companies can not wait to stick it up you with increased premiums for the next 5 years.
It is far cheaper just to sue the idiot that did the damage yourself.
If you want the easy option then you have to pay for it unfortunately.

Some one in Nov 2009 drove into my stationary car and I was fully comp with protected NCD (6+ years) and insurance still went up, whether that was a result of just normal insurance increase of because of the accident I dont know

I am starting to wonder what the point of these boards is.

I like most, have had my share on NF accidents, been protected for years.

YOUR PREMIUM DOES NOT GO UP BECAUSE OF 1 NF ACCIDENT!

I am starting to think these boards are full of trolls with their own agendas who delight in telling others that if they so much as dare claim for an event, then they will suffer for five years, even though they might have impeccable records for ten years, and live in the back of beyond.

Please do not troll the boards with myth and rumour. if you are qualified in the fine details of how premiums are calculated, then show your credentials on your signature, but do not put off innocent individuals on claiming on the very thing they have paid in for years. No wonder some industries have a bad rep, a lot of it is caused on this very site!

I will be formalling writing to MSE as I am staggered what I read, on this insurance board more than any other.
