Boiler Troubles

Options
Hi
I have a question that I hope someone can help me with.
My mum had a new boiler and central heating system installed at the end of November last year and it has developed a problem over the duration of last weekend. She has rang Baxi to complain and they said they will send someone out to fix it for the sum of £300:eek:
I think that she should be covered under the Sale of Goods Act because it would be reasonable to expect an item such as a boiler to last longer than 12 months.
I have told her to get her local Corgi engineer out asap to do its 12 month service which is due now anyway and see if he thinks there is a problem and if there is then we should contact Baxi again and tell them that we know our rights and we expect them to put the fault right under the Sale of Goods Act.
Is this correct? I wouldn't want to go ringing them up and spouting everything off to them if I have not got my facts right. How much success have the people on this board had with excercising their rights under the Sale of Goods Act? I just want to sort all this out for my poor mum.
Please help:A
I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me saying "You're next". They stopped when I started doing it to them at funerals :p

    baxi = non stop problems

    however i've found that if you shout at them enough they are usually good at replacing parts....we've had quite a few boilers replaced this way...yes entire boilers

    we don't use baxi anymore....too many problems

    do baxi only do a 12 month warranty still?

    this is almost unbheard of now

    all good boiler manufacturers provide a minimum of 2 years warranty now
