Friend on FB asking if anyone wants to buy 2 staffies (brothers) who are 5 months old. No replies. Then another status to say Free to good home. (his brother's and he is off to work away, so unable to look after them)
Someone replied saying she can take one of them BUT blah blah. The wife of the brother who is getting rid replied. And I replied go for it, one less doggy for rescue centres to put down. ( yes I did mean this sarcastic, as I saw red when the wife appeared). Wife replied, "They are not going anywhere near a rescue centre thankyou". I have not replied, I want too, but am biting my tongue. SO I will put it here. Why the f get a dog never mind 2 and then decide you no longer want them. Wife will be staying at the home so !!!!!!?. Oh I am so mad now.
Thank you for reading my rant.

Do you know that families reasons for needing to have the dogs re-homed? Some families have genuine reasons and I don't think anyone should judge until they know all the facts.0

I know for a fact! Wife did not want them in the first place, But he got them anyway (my friend, his brother was seeking a littler for brother 6 months ago). They got 2 male staffies (brothers), They say he is going to be working away hence the sale, but its the wife who wants rid because they are to hyper.
I want to reply, "people like you make me sick". But have bit my lip.0 -
Sounds like the dogs would be better off elsewhere.
Why should the wife have to care for two puppies she did not agree to; what if there is an 'incident' because she cannot control two strong male dogs? It's the husband that is has been irresponsible buying them AND by not training them AND by agreeing to work away without considering his responsibilities at home. Sounds like your friend has been just as irresponsible enabling his brother behind his sister-in-law's back. TBH if I was in the wife's shoes I would feel the same, however I'd ensure they found a forever home however long that took (not easy for Staffies). Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I can't comment on what the OP says, other than to add that this sort of thing is very common indeed. Eg one of my neighbours acquired a one year old male springer on Friday. I was out the door like a shot looking to say hello to it and give it..sorry, him...a big cuddle and fuss. I was told it cost £100 and came with some food, a blanket and a crate. They were so pleased with their bargain as they could get another one then breed from them and get £300 per pup. However they now say they are looking rid of it as it has diarrhea. I do not know who is stupidest...the person who bought the dog in the first place then sold it on within a year, or these idiots... There is only so much you can do or say without causing an almighty argument....0

Sadly this is so common these days. I know of one particular family who have had a series of dogs, including Staffies, Rotties, and the last one was a Border Collie. They do nothing to train the dogs then wonder why they can't control them when they go into the teenage years. Then they get rid. They have to be onto their 7th dog now, and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they decide they want another pup. I live a long way away from them, so I only hear about them every so often but it's so sad for those poor dogs.0

they will be better off being rehomed seperately, its really a very bad idea to keep siblings from the same litter. My mum bought two siblings and they were fine until they turned 5 then went from best friends to trying to kill each other for no reason. After hundreds of pounds on vet bills and a behaviourist she had to rehome one of them, she is heartbroken

Sometimes I think they should bring back licences so you have to pay to have any dog...it would stop lots of people getting them on a whim and deciding they don't want them. We happily paid 100 pounds for our beloved rescue doggie, and I would pay more if it meant that we weren't greeted by all those sad doggie faces in the council pound
