When you uninstall any software, its very rare for it to completely remove itself from your PC and over time you can have a lot of junk files which shouldn't be there. Whenever i uninstall any software, i run jv16 immediately afterwards to remove leftover software registry keys...and its completely safe, as it backs up your registry before making any changes. Another feature i like of jv16 is that it can wipe your free hard disk space completely so your deleted files cannot be retrieved.

A quick google gave some great reviews
"I had to reformat after using this....... the performance increase that you obtain by deleting reg errors is nothing in comparison to the harm that this does to your OS. BEWARE !!!!!"
"It makes you computer so clean that it BSOD's after restarting."
gets an amazing 2 stars out of 5 in download.com

Registry boosters have gone the way of memory boosters......

They are only worth the money spent on making them, and then only worth it to those who profit from ripping of consumers.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -

Well i've been using jv16 powertools for the last few years (win 7, vista, xp, all 64 bit) and not had a single problem with it. Its completely safe because it backs up your registry before making changes; in one click it restores your system..takes less than 5 sec. Like i said its great for removing leftover software (which is hardly ever removed completely) and also lets you do things like write over the free space on your hard disk (so that deleted files can't be recovered).
I suspect those who !!!!ed up their pc's simply forgot to read the user manual and didn't follow this simple advice:Before using jv16 PowerTools
Q: Can jv16 PowerTools destroy my computer?
A: jv16 PowerTools is like an axe, if you know how to use it you can use it as a powerful tool but if you don't really know how to use it you can someday hit your leg with it.
Q: What does the Disclaimer really mean?
A: It basically means that what ever you do with jv16 PowerTools you are on your own. If you manage to destroy your computer, your girlfriend or this universe with it, it is really your fault. The author of jv16 PowerTools is not responsible. For more info, read the disclaimer. If you don't agree with it, do not use jv16 PowerTools.
Having said all this, i would never pay for it. Macecraft were giving out free lifetime licences a few years ago, i thought why not and was pleasantly surprised0
