Put up a link to what you mean by fire pit.

Which fire pit is it? It may not even scorch your decking, it depends how close to the ground it is? If it is anything like THIS Then I wouldn't have thought it would.

You will need something that doesn'tconduct heat very well. Slate, York Stone or Slabs etc (possibly slightly raised themselves at the corners if the wood scorches underneath them)

Maybe you need to buy a stepping stone as it is a round firepit?

    thanks poly1,
thats a lovely idea, however 1 would not be big enough.... also minimum order of 5.

will keep looking. i'm actually getting my existing patio moved, depending on how much stone is needed i may be able to use a square of that!:)

finger crossed.... would still like a more pleaseant looking option.

How about 4 bricks or a slab thats big enough, maybe try freecycle for a slab or the bricks

it's more than likely saying not to use it on decking so the decking doesn't burn if anything comes out out the fire pit.... So just put it on paving slabs on the decking
