Scottish Power online energy saver 2
Options
I switched to N power sign online a year ago (is that v4 or V5? - some comparison sites tell me V5, some tell me V4. I haven't got the bills with me to check).
Anyway, at the time I felt a bit conned by the switch sites as they showed N Power as being a lot cheaper but it wasn't until I signed up that I realised that was because of the £60 discount that you have to wait a year for. This effectively means that you're tied in for a year to get the rate you expected.
Now I've got my £60 from N Power, I've just had a quick look on the comparison sites and they're recommending that I can save about 8% by switching to Scottish power online energy saver 2.
My question to you is, do they "tie you in" for a year and only give you the discount at the end of that year?

I believe the discount is applied at point of billing.
Over the next year or so it is likely that many of the utility companies will be announcing various new and fancy products. In order to improve cash flow many of these will be looking to get more money up front or not give the discounts until the end of a fixed period.
