Yes seems to be a lot of different opinions, our health visitor suggested about 21 degrees (22 max) she also said 18 the absolute minimum, if 16 to 20 is the recommended range I am happy to go with that, like I've said our baby tends to wake up and becomes unsettled at 15 or 16 degrees and her face feels cool, when nights are hot and sticky we open a window slightly and turn a fan on away from the baby to keep air circulating so thanks for your help.

Looks like the oil heater with thermostat set at 18/19 degrees will be your best option for baby and cost :)

Hi, I have two children and have never had any kind of heating on overnight, even in the depths of winter. However, you didnt come on here to ask if other people would recommend heating the bedroom and thats really up to you!

I can say that we have an oil fired heater in our lounge which is a very cold room and its fantastic - very effective and economical to run on the thermostat so if you were wanting some supplementary heat thats the way to go.

Edited to say that our oil radiator also has a timer on it, which may be useful for you.
