  • why anyone would want to go to a supermarket on boxingday is just beyond me! I find it odd that they come to my resturant after they have spent a fourtune on food and gourged to death on it on christmas  day

I know - Its crazy, not content with filling their trollies on Christmas Eve it would seem people are desperate for more, My 2 local Tesco stores had people queuing this morning to get in!  (I hope it wasn't all you R+R'ers:rotfl:  )

tescos do like to capture the market and will have to compete with other stores sales so next year could be 40-50 maybe all

the 'thanks button' is necessary IMO, but I don't see the need for the individual 'thanks counter' as it leads to petty squabbles and people taking umbrage because you thanked so and so and not me.. etc etc..

I hate the train of thought on here (MSE) that you can only 'trust' someone because of their post count or number of thanks! - I'd rather look at what has been posted and then make a judgement.

Can't get to Tesco until tomorrow, will be slim pickings on the bargain front by then I reckon

Ironically that was such an insightful post that you will get a lot of "Thanks" for it :)
    Can I help?

Do you mean because Christmas Day and Boxing Day fell on a Monday and Tuesday this year?? If so then staff get paid for those days.

I guess so - And apprentley you can never have too many half price Tea Towels! , In reality though as you stated they will need to open their 'Extra' stores on Boxing Day as recent data shows that Tesco are due to overtake Debenhams and M&S to become the UKs Number.1 'Non-Food' retailer.
