Morning - Just got home after a 4.5 hour journey from the Black Country. As I woke at 5.00a.m. I decided not to wait for breakfast at the Premier Inn as it didn't start until 8.00a.m. so climbed in my clothes and set off. Feels good to be home and got my own breakfast cooking! I drove at a little over 60mph all the way (about 230 miles) to see how much fuel I could save and was very impressed with myself - only got a little bit bored sometimes. ;)

I haven't read yesterday's thread yet but am excited to see what's there about the handfasting.

Took bacon and sausage out of the freezer :j and there are in the oven. Only need to get through today and tomorrow as I'm away again Tuesday - Thursday for work and then Thursday night visiting friends a little further south. OH is able to fend for himself, he enjoys it.

. My Dad died 13 years ago and it saddens me a lot to see the shops full of gifts and cards and I have no reason to buy anything, same for OH as his Dad died last year, however I'm sure that lots of people are in the same boat.

What gave me great pleasure today was to see all the hordes, yards and miles of poppies! Some areas are thick with them. Especially lovely was the stretch between Dishforth and Leeming, all through the roadworks (14 miles of 50mph with average speed cameras) the verges are just a sea of blood red poppies - really wonderful.

Hope everyone is OK or being looked after

    Morning all
Nice to see you posting PP, such sad news MM.
Yesterday went very well, we had sunshine as we left the registry office & again during our Handfasting.
We did a minimum clearup yesterday befor we left for the hotel & arrived home today to the floor covered in brownie crumbs & glittery hearts & stars, a quick sweep will soon restore order. There was plenty to eat & drink & most people took home doggy bags, even though they don't have dogs, lol!
Thanks for all your kind wishes.
    Have a good day everyone
    Hugs Hester

Afternoon All (well it is here)

DH has hoovered round, ready for our visitors tomorrow, their bedroom is all ready, easy make as a sheet is as much as you can handle, if that at times.

Happy Anniversary Bitsy & Hunk & the Jaywards.

Glad everything well well Hester and the weather held.

P-P Nice to see you posting, sorry to hear your health is not good. Keep popping in.

Went out unexpectedly last night, one of our neighbours who we went to the cheapy Chinese with on Monday, suggested an Argentinian BBQ at a restaurant nearby 12€ per head including 1 drink. The place was packed, they had a fire going in their car park, and sides of animals (sorry veggies) cooking away. The meal was a plate of salad, followed by a couple of chunks of meat, with chips, peas & baby carrots, and an ice cream to finish. It was good, as was the company. Even with a tip and drinks all night, it only came to 15€ a head. I was the D-D so was on diet coke :A, and did not have the chips, and only a small taste of dessert :A They had a Spanish singer on, we recognised a few tunes but being sung in Spanish, then he broke into Frank Sinatra and Matt Munro in English.

I have a Lidl chicken to cook for later, will do it and have it cold, far to hot for a chicken dinner, so will have it with a salad (will look like one soon), 1.89€ a kilo on offer at the moment.

Hope you are all packed for your holiday Jayward, don;t forget you do not need cardigans/jumpers it is hot out here. Breezier today which is keeping to temps down to more manageable levels.

M-M sorry to hear the sad news on the LO.

There are also sex smilies too but they are a bit naughty and we would probably be censored by the board guides smiley-laughing004.gif

Seriously need to start a proper budget and also have a declutter!

Maybe I have been reading too much Amish fiction but I just have this urge to get rid of all sorts! At least the charity shop will like me.

It might be the affect of an overdose of The Waltons though!

gammon was cooked beautifully by this morning and I will take some round to my Dds shortly when I go to dinner there for her to use in the childrens packed lunches this week.NDS for food today but I did go to the local garden centre and buy my DD and nice pot plant to cheer her up a bit.Best thing today was I was up really early and hung out my washing and by 9.00.a.m. with the wind it was dry enough to iron and not only did I iron it but I even put it away as well:) most unlike me as I hate putting the stuff away for some reason. So tomorrow I am already in front of myself for a change .Just as well I did as its been raining really hard on and off all the afternoon.Right I'm off to see my DGS and have a game of scrabble with them before dinner tonight .Have a good evening everyone
    Cheers JackieO xx
