Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 19th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all.
I can't see a new thread so have started a new one. Please merge if there is another one!
Olly woke at about 11.30 & wouldn't go back in his cot. So we came down stairs. I think he's getting a cold. The older 2 have a cold. I made him a nest on the floor but he kept crying so I laid next to him in a fleece & dosed there most of the night. My back is killing me. I am too old to sleep on the floor!
HH, I hope yesterday was wonderful.
Marie, what an awful thing to happen. My thoughts are with the family.
Towels are in th wm. DW & rack emptied.
Today need to make a cake for DH in honour of Fathers Day. I always feel a bit sad on Fathers Day as was rejected by my father. Oh well, his loss.
Need to make shopping list for next mont & a monthly housework list in my diary. I do follow flylady but also need my own! House looks quite lived in. Does ANYONE live in a home like you see in those home-style magazines?! None of them look lived in!
I hope you all have a good day.
Love (((hugs))) & spoons

Good Morning All. Woke up early with headache - not enough liquid yesterday I suspect. WM nearly finished - though I think it'll have to dry in the conservatory today.
MM - so sad about your friend's little one. Thinking about them lots.
Trying to complete new style CRB form and don't know about some of the categories so have emailed my future employer to find out.. Busy day churchwise today. Think i'll probably have to walk as well as DH is playing for services in two outlying villages this morning. DS left card behind for Father's Day - hope his expartner will have got one for DGD to give him when he sees them later. Exactly a year since she asked him to move out..
Longing to see pics from HH on her blog!
Hope you all have a great day today. Take care.Resolution:

Morning everyone,
Thanks for starting the thread Mrsmortenharket, I was trying to work out how to it myself!
Marie, my thoughts are with that little boy's family, what a terrible thing to happen.
HH, where are the pictures of your dress!
OH got up at 6 this morning to go on the Great Notts Bike Ride (73 miles) and I couldn't get back to sleep so I got up to do some more of the endless piles of washing. DD1 is out on a sleepover and DD2 has a friend here on a sleepover so there will be lots of giggling soon when they wake up.
Tea tonight will be roast chicken. Last night I made meatballs and DD2's friend was really impressed that I had made them and not bought them. She also said that they were much nicer than the bought ones that she had at home, I think she will be working on her mum.
The rain held off for DS to go to the 20/20 yesterday but it poured when it finished and there was a fantastic double rainbow- a sign for Hester and Minder?!
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -

have a lovely day x0 -
Morning All,
Thanks for the good wishes yesterday, I had a lovely day, it was also DS2's birthday party - his birthday is the 27th but school will be broken up by then, and some of his friends are off on holiday, so we held it early. The wee souls were playing football outside in the rain:( but had a blast anyway and went away looking hapy. He stayed with his friend last night, for the friend's birthday treat, and its his party today, so more football today. DH has this terrible lurgy still, and seems to have gotten worse over the last 48 hours, so it was a quiet night in with a bottle of wine and a takeaway last night. I haven't had a drink since the meet in Birmingham, and was half cut after one glass
Plan for the day is washing and drying (its still persisting down here) and geting organised for the last week of school. DS2's bedroom is being decorated next, so I might get that started today, too.
Hope your day went well Hester, can't wait to see the pics.
Penny-Pincher I am so glad to see you posted yesterday, sorry to hear you aren't doing very well atm. Lots of positive vibes being sent your way.
Have a great day everyone.

Just a very quick one from me. Have just found there is an Airshow at The Cotswold Airport and I quite fancy going to it so IF we decide to go then I need to pull my finger out
Rough night with the kids so lots of bed hopping going on  Have given H a lie in for Fathers Day, I am too good to him
Had a lovely meal last night to celebrate our anniversary today so will need to come up with something nice from the freezer for tea tonight.

morning everyone
sun is shining at the moment. apart from a few drizzles yesterday, it stay dry but was rather windy. so hopefully HH had a good day.
feeling a bittoday. mothers/fathers days seem to do this to me
but hubbys stuff is ready for ds to give him when they awake. then we are off to the cemetery. every year we take flowers to hubbys grandads grave. he never knew his dad and his grandad acted as one instead. will also go and see my baby. it wasnt hubbys baby (before i was with him) but he said he still wants to go. then we're off to the lake where my dads ashes are scattered. have a balloon to let go there.
hopefully will get all that out of the way this morning then we can cheer up a bitthough i doubt i will. my hormones are all over the place and i am an emtional wreck
a good friend called in yesterday. his MIL has got breast cancer for the second time. she told them yesterday that the prognosis isnt goodshe wont tell them if the drs have said its terminal or not
they were wanting to start a family of their own but his wife has put it on hold. says if she has a baby she wants her mum to be there. if she has terminal cancer then she doesnt think she can do it
he is devastated. he lost his mum before christmas and has become very close to his MIL and now feels like he lost his chance to have his own family. he had accepted that he wouldnt ever get married, settle down with kids etc because he's never had a girlf til he met her and she changed everything for him. all really sad
os wise today. will be cooking hubby the dinner of his choice. loads of washing that needs doing too. need to check how my veg is growing in the garden. have abandoned them for a few days.
hoe everyone has a good day. hugs to those that need them today as fathers day can be hard day {{{hugs}}}
