Had free eye test yesterday so I've saved £20. I can't thank you enough. :)

Excellent - did they pester you into getting some of their glasses - to be fair they weren't that 'hostile' when I did my test.

No not at all but then again I'm with them for contact lenses. I hate having eye tests; for me it's worse than going to the dentist but having been to all the high street opticians, D & A are definitely the best for friendly staff and professionalism so it's great that I can get tests there for free.

My free eye test was great. I have been having some problems with dizzyness and the optician did some extra tests to check alignment (new tests to me anyway). I havent bought from them yet, but I probably will go back on saturday. The quote is for ~£320 but thats for polycarbonate rimless designer frames and a pair of polaroid sunglasses too. Since I wear them all day every day I can justify the cost. Also, I have made £125 this month from the banks (lloydstsb/first direct/abbey) and saved £20 on the test - so thats like a 50% discount!

You could always get a glasses direct pair - if they don't suit then they can be a backup - they only cost about £17.

We both had our free eye tests today - no problems with the voucher so thanks to the o.p.!

Lipidicman - if you go back for your glasses, don't forget to use the £20 voucher printed off the same Dolland & Aitchison website. Unlike the vouchers in the Tesco magazine, it can be used with instore offers. :D
  • I had my eyes tested today with the voucher - had both eyetest and contact lens check - both very comphensive -

The free months trial is if you have varifocal lenses - however they have ordered 5 days worth of free one day lenses for me. If you join their contact lens by post scheme you get half price glasses. They have advised me can cancell any time.

Will be taking the £20 off glasses voucher next week to see if I can have that off as well
    I want to...........?

Thankyou for this I got my eye test today (free).D&A tried to sell me a 1 set of specs for £155 unfortunately for D&A I couldnt take them up on there offer, more hunting to be done first. Had a hunt about and opted for the 2 for 1 offer in tescos so 2 pairs for £99 with my free eye test certificate (yes 2 pairs with the scratch resistant coating) Thanks to the poster this was a top offer for me

Thanks, I went with D&A on Saturday, but I didnt read this until this morning (Monday)! I hate missing offers like this. Anyhow, with glasses the cost doesnt matter as much as that I will be happy. I went for Dolce & Gabbana specs and Police polaroid sunglasses. Glassesdirect wouldnt do it for me, I am far too fussy about glasses. I understand if you just put them on at home to do the crossword, but I look through mine and people see me in them all day every day. I am thinking about a Ted Baker rimless pair for wearing after work. Its nice to have a change at the end of the day and you have to have something to spend all the money on that you save elsewhere!

    Edit: just read this:
This voucher can only be used on a first pair of glasses and not inconjunction with any second pair or CLBP offers.

So it wouldnt have helped me, as I got the second pair (my shades at half price) I thought it sounded too good to be true. And I feel slightly less gutted, Moneysavers hate to miss a voucher!
