shop items in search

I'm having a 'blonde' moment so this is probably a daft question.
I am on a bit of a buying spree and have been searching by title for something but not getting the usual amount of hits on it.
So I've gone back to the sellers I have bought from before and going via a previously purchased item I have searched their shop using the same keyword and have found items that do not show up in the main search.
So daft question, I thought all items, shop or otherwise showed up if you did a full worldwide search on all categories ? Have I just been lucky in the past or is there a glitch meaning shop items don't come up in an expanded search anymore?

I recall you need to do a separate search of shops on the advanced search tab.
This is the only way I know to find items in shops that are not also listed on the main site.
Hope this makes sense as I was new to ebay when I found this odd feature.0 -
Thanks Mobile. I was sure I always saw the shop things on an advanced search but they just didn't show up. I'd be pretty cross frankly if I had a shop and my stuff was invisible unless people happened to look into my shop directly.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I can't see any option to search for shop items, I believe there used to be a separate type of listing for those (and they would only show if searched in a seller's shop), but now we only have BINs and Auctions.
Not sure what is happening, a few months back shop listings started to come back, my listings were either classed as fixed price, auction or store item (or something to that effect), I thought ebay were planning to bring back that type of listing for some reason, then they disappeared...0 -
As a buyer it is of course brilliant as I picked off a load of items very cheaply last night as they did not appear in a general search but I would be very upset as a seller with a shop.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
