Can anyone recommend a cheapish Freeview recorder?
Not fussed about Scart or HDMI - there doesn't seem to be much difference in picture quality anyway.
I'm looking at a couple of Humax boxes costing £70-£100.
I've also seen a couple of Philips / Samsung boxes but the reviews are a bit ropey. I've also looked at own-brand ones on ebuyer for around £50ish. Problem with these ones would be getting hold of replacement remotes if needed, as ebuyer don't seem to keep any in stock.
Any recommendations? Looking for a box that isn't too loud, is smooth in operation, obviously dual-tuner, and around £60-£70 max.
Thanks!

Thanks, but those refurb units are pretty poor, and the ones I was looking at ( the 9150T and 9300T) are more than the price they are on eBay.0 -
Ebay is your best bet as loads of people get rid of these to make way for HD recorders, pushing prices down. My Humax will be on Ebay next month for that very reason!0

I have a Humax PVR-9200T and it is a decent machine, although since I bought an HD TV I didn't think the picture quality through the SCART on this was as good as normal TV.
I will be upgrading to an HD box with HDMI very soon. I would like the Humax HDR-FOXT2 but these cost £280 so I might go for a Toshiba one for £180-odd.0
