Installation Ipswich. 2.1kw X12 panels yingli,Aurora inverter. First year 1830 SW facing roof. Supplier Solar PV.co Lanarkshire. Everything o.k. but their SAP calculation at 2520 was high another company qouted 1800 for the same setup. Solar PV had the best price at just under £10000 and did advise the inverter will probably need relacing after about ten years, some companies dont. Affordable Solar qouted £18300!0

I have now ordered a system to be fitted by a firm which lives very close to me, to be fitted on the 1st of august. The system consisits of 15 x 245w Sharp NU panels (3.68KW) with Fronius converter. Total cost including new fusebox £10.100.
Hopefully will be able to use as near to all I can produce as I run a koi pond which is turning into a very expensive hobby.fortunately more energy is require in the summer than in the winter( more pumps, waterfalls etc are switched on)
............I just looked at where I will be in 10 years time with the money in the bank earning low interest and still trying to pay the huge electric bills.Just heard on the news that prices could increase by 50% over the next few years due to building more nucular power stations.
............I have just been on the Fronius web site who are giving a special offer of an increased garantee to 20yrs if you pay for 10 years, but could not find what it costs. Anyone have any ideas and do they think it is worth it?.
Best Regards Dave
ps good luck 86coz with your system0 -

ps good luck 86coz with your system
the last 2 days i have only used 2 units of elecy (daytime only)
and that is with the washer on a few times both days, kettle ect and i also have kio so had the pump the uv and the air pump running.
according to the monitor it has made £19.83 in fits and export and avoided 63 pounds of co2.
yesterday we also had a power cut for over an hour so i think it seems to be going well.
i have a question to all how could help
yesterday the system was genarating 3kwh for a good while and just wondering if i could genarate more or was that just the peak for yesterday
as i have 3.5 kwh panels and the inverter is a 3kwh does this mean it wont genarate more than 3kwh0 -
who did you go with in the end Coz?
a local company was recomended so went with them.
i was a bit sick of companys and there salesmen that can`t answer the questions i was asking and them pushing panel makes that they obviously have piles of ,one guy i asked about the brackets "what are the brackets made from" he said "metal" that was him oot the door.
my guy sraight away the brackets are made from stainless steel(i think 304 grade) and i use these stainless steel coach bolts that are a little bigger than the min you need to use and explaned how the brackets are fitted in detail in fact how the how system is fitted in detail...because he could as he was the one fitting it all,i found that very helpfull as i can relate to that being mechaniclly minded myself.
the moral of the story that i belive is
as well as price find someone how is also the fitter and quoter of the panels and i think you wont go far wrong:D
the bloke i got to fit them was the same man who came to my house to quote me and was the only one to have them on his own house and also a solar water heater on his house to,he also installed a solar heater on his mother-in-laws house a few years ago.
a small family run bussiness and he knew his bannanas from his apples0
