Onstream have started to fit 'smart meters' nationwide so even if you have had a new meter fitted recently it will still need to be changed for one of the new ones, all meters in the country should be the smart type by about 2017.
Onstream are not fitting 'smart' meters they are fitting 'trial' meters as there is no such thing as a DECC (government) defined smart meter yet.
