Hi! I was just wondering if anyone could help me, yesterday when i shut down my computer it automatically installed updates. Today when i try and turn on the computer it goes to a screen saying installing updates and then shutting down, it then shuts down and when i turn it on again it just keeps going back to the installing updates screen again and shuts down. Does anyone have any ideas how i can fix this? Thanks so much!

Go into 'safe mode' (keep pressing F8 whilst booting) and do a system restore.0

after safe mode in networking.you need to download update readiness from microsoft
I have had same prob. !!0 -
Thanks for your replies! Unfortunately even when i start it in safe mode it still tries to configure the update and then shuts down so i cant get passed that screen, i also tried the last known good configuration option but just got the same thing with it
any other ideas? I hate those automatic update things lol!

There is an option to repair your computer, if i select that would it wipe everything?0
-
Its windows vista0

If you get the option for last known good configuration, select that
Or
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Start-System-Restore-from-a-command-prompt
Note
If you use System Restore when the computer is in safe mode, you can't undo the restore operation. However, you can run System Restore again and choose a different restore point if one exists.0 -
download the vista recovery disc
http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/download-windows-vista-x64-recovery-disc/
and burn to CD
will enable you to boot from that and access your restore pointsEx forum ambassador
