Anyone Else Use Rapidshare?

Hello everyone :)

This is to my fellow rapidshare users, I have been a loyal rapidshare user for a number of years now and have always found it a great way of sharing any kind of large file with family members all over the world, now I come around to re-new my account with them they seem to have had yet another sneaky price rise but this time instead of the strange currency saga they just seem to have doubled the price of everything!!!

Last month I bought 30 days access for 499 rapids, this months it is all of a sudden 990 rapids or 9.90 Euro!!!!

What are they playing at? Were they not happy losing half of their customers last time? They know want to lose the remaining few that has stuck with them? I am really annoyed? What has happened? They have not even had the decency to email me and let me know!!!!!!

This for me is probably going to be the final nail in the coffin for my relationship with them, I almost left them last time when they introduced the rapids system but stuck with them, this time though they can go and whistle! Can anyone reccomend another well known, well used more reliable file sharing site? I like to stay with the big ones as the thought of having to re-upload stuff after a small fly by night has upped sticks and gone is a nightmare!

Thanks in advance :)

The problem is a lot of them are currently blocked by most ISP's due to the IWF.(Internet Watch Foundation) including Oron & Filesonic.I myself use Multiupload for the simple reason that if any of them are blocked by my ISP,I can at least access my data on one of them.Normally I use Megaupload or File Factory.

Rapidshare prices up as it has lost a lot of customers .
The illegal file sharing guys no longer use them as they once did .
At one time two years ago RS had 13% of all web traffic and 99% of that was illegal .

Most users do not share large files and something like Dropbox works well for them .

I used to use them, but moved over to FileFactory. Much cheaper too.

Rapidshare are just thieves. They just help themselves to your Rapids. They change the system and then steal your Rapids.

I think that anyone who had Rapids before the change, should have been left on the same tariff until their Rapids ran out. I have nothing but contempt for their actions.

They have the gall to write that they listen and respond to the needs of their users. What a load of crap.

    MediaFire are decent.

    http://www.mediafire.com/

They allow up to 200MB per file for free users which I think is reasonable. The paid for version starts from $9 a month but you're allowed much bigger file sizes for that.

MegaUpload allow much larger files for free users. 1GB I think.

Though now I use mainly FileFactory to store my files. 500 GB of storage space and up to 2000 MB per file on the free account.

I think anyone who has membership of a file-hosting service knows how to upload a video.
I certainly wouldn't upload any personal family videos to DailyMotion or the like.

With a decent file hosting service you can encrypt and send securely.
