A matter of opinion really but I use avira. Also add malwarebytes with either.

You have another board open - are you having troubles with your computer? If yes, start with a malwarebytes scan and post log here.

Avira on "my" desktop, avast for mini-Gun's lappys/other people who ask. This is because I don't need the e-mail scanner and avast raised my ping times, possibly down to webshield. In terms of protection, both usually very close in tests, avira marginally ahead.

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

I didn't like Avira as the updating wasn't straight-forward and they kept popping up adverts, so I moved to Avast and find that much better.

With Avira, CCleaner would keep finding a registry key, which reloaded itself after being removed, the usual remedy is to go to Avira configuration and untick the protection for programme settings, then use CCleaner to remove the registry key, then re-tick the settings boxes and reboot
