Barclaycard Platinum Query

With the advertised Barclaycard Platinum Visa card is there a facility (like with MBNA) where you can do a money transfer into a UK bank account or would it strictly have to be a balance transfer to pay off another credit card balance?

I have looked on the balance transfer t&cs on the Barclays site and it does not mention the term 'money transfer', only 'balance transfer'.

Thanks.
on a money saving mission! :p

Although they have recently started offering money transfer promotions to existing customers, there's no such feature available for new customers...or at least no guarantee you'll get one.

Look at MBNA, Post Office, or M&S (via Sterling travellers cheques) for money transfers.

I applied for my B/card Platinum in April and attempted to do a money transfer to clear my overdraft interest free and they told me it wasn't a service they offered. Mores the pity :-(

Thats a shame, so its just MBNA and Post Office that offer this?

    At 0%*, and directly**, yes.

    * RBSG & Tesco cards have a money transfer feature, but not at 0% (it'll be at or around your purchase rate, but fee-free). You could then BT the debt away as normal for 0% elsewhere.

** M&S have an 'indirect' money transfer loophole (as mentioned in my earlier post).
