Dual telephoned!

I've heard of dual insurance, where you end up being insured through two home insurers, but this is new on me.

Back in June local Post Office was offering £30 discount off first two bills with their homephone line service. Seemed reasonable enough, lower line rental, so went ahead.

Letter from BT advising we would switch over July time.

We also have BT Broadband, which we kept with BT.

Now apparently, we have never had the BT line rental or calls cancelled. So since July we have paid twice for the same set of calls and line rental???

Worst of all, is that we have never been able to make an outbound call since September, and nobody can explain what the fault on the line is?

Firstly I have taken up the issue with BT, as I believe the Post Office aren't really to blame for this, so why should I harass them?

Any advice or anyone else had a similar experience?

TIA

Charley

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
