Hi
Thinking bout possibly purchasing home 2/4 berth not brand new but fairly new .... needs to be able to tow a modern auto scooter on a A frame.
Anyone have ideas/tips re motorhomes what to look for, anyone have any experience of motorhomes & towing. 2nd hand prices for one just few years old ie 5yrs. Any suggested dealers could look at who have competitive prices.
Many thanks

I wouldn't tow a scooter.
Have a look at motorhomes with a garage, or a motorcycle carrier on the rear.
It's not a good market for motorhomes at the moment, private sales are depressed, ebay is a good place if you know what to look for. Generally though, if it's a couple of years old you would have to be unlucky to find a bad one. Any accident damage should be avoided, you may still have a leak that shows up months later.

Have a look at these websites for info.

Some key things to consider are payload, axle weights if putting scooter rack on back, seat belted seats, some 4 berth vans only have 2 seat belts and retro fitting is not very easy/safe.
Size and comfort of beds, doe you want toilet facilities or just some where to sleep.
Go to a large dealer or show and look at lots of different layouts, maybe even hire one to see if it suits and you lie the lifestyle.

I have owned a number of motorhomes for more than 20 years now, and I always found MMM magazine a good source of advice, also motorhomefacts a helpful website. The best advice is to borrow or hire one for a week or two before you commit a large amount of your hard earned cash to buying. Motorhoming is not for everyone, and you can make an expensive mistake.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

Dealers charge the earth for them but private sales are risky. Its a lot of money to lose if anything
goes bad.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
