Norton 2011 system builder

I purchased what i thought was Norton internet security 2011,when it arrived it is boxed as NIS system builder edition.Is this ok to use and will it still offer the same protection.No comments about Norton being useless please,i use it and like it.

Legally no. It is an OEM version designed to be sold with newly built machines prior to sale. From an end user perspective, as long as it is a 12 month licence it will install just fine and work as if it had been the retail version you should have been sold.0

System building means OEM, i.e. to be used on a newly sold machine.
As above. It's just a cheeky way for the retailer to make extra money by undercutting the properly sold retail packs sold by others. Realistically Norton won't go after you though.0 -
